    Beef Tallow

Real ingredients. Real results.

Our soaps are evidently different. We utilize 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef tallow as our base (more than 80%) — a time-tested ingredient that's naturally rich in vitamins A, D, E, K, and B12. Because tallow closely mirrors your skin's own oils, it cleanses gently while restoring moisture, not stripping it away.

Our ingredients are simple, intentional, and pure:

Grass-Fed Beef Tallow

We render our own tallow in small batches from grass-fed, grass-finished suet. The result is a creamy, nourishing lather that leaves your skin soft, never tight or dry.

Organic Essential Oils

Only steam-distilled or cold-pressed organic oils. No synthetic fragrances, just pure botanical extracts for natural scent and skin benefits.

Distilled Water & Lye

Fluoride-free distilled water and lye (sodium hydroxide)—the same traditional ingredients used for centuries to create true soap through saponification. No lye remains in the finished bar.

Quality, not quantity.

The nature of manufacturing "true soap" is a slow, and agile process. Something that can't be mass-produced with machinery.

Each bar is hand-poured, cut, and boxed. Our production is done in-house, from start to finish, with all ingredients sourced locally.

Sourcing Tallow

We locally source 100% grass-fed beef fat, which is carefully rendered to create nutrient-rich pure tallow.

Making Soap

We then transform the purified tallow into rich, nourishing soap through traditional methods.

Hand-cut & packaged

After a minimum 4-week curing period, the bars are hand-cut and packaged in recyclable boxes.

Against the grain — why beef tallow?

Got a question that isn’t here? We’d love to hear it! Send us an email at contact@onaturelle.co
Where is O'Naturelle located?

Our business — manufacturing and all operations — are out of London, ON, Canada. All ingredients are sourced within Ontario (excluding the origins of organic essential oils), where we source the beef fat from our local butcher, hand-render into tallow and suet, then hand-mix each and every batch of soap.

Shipments within Canada are processed via the Toronto, ON sorting facility. United States shipments are processed via the Niagara Falls, NY facility.

How long do soap bars last?

Body bars typically last the average individual 3-5 weeks. This can be dependent on the frequency of use and how you both use and store the bar (soap bags help extend the life of the bar by using less of it).

If able, we highly recommend a water softener to accompany these gentle cleansing soaps on your skin for optimum results.

What are the benefits of beef tallow?

Tallow soap offers numerous benefits due to its unique composition and compatibility with human skin. Rich in fatty acids like stearic and oleic acid, tallow closely resembles the natural oils found in our skin, making it highly moisturizing and nourishing. This helps to strengthen the skin’s natural barrier, preventing excessive dryness and irritation. Unlike synthetic detergents and commercial soaps that often contain harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances, tallow soap is typically free from unnecessary additives, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin or conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Its dense, creamy lather provides a luxurious cleansing experience while gently removing dirt and excess oil without stripping away essential moisture. Additionally, tallow is a sustainable ingredient, as it is a byproduct of the beef industry, reducing waste and promoting eco-friendly skincare choices. Unlike plant-based oils that require extensive processing, tallow is minimally refined, ensuring a more natural and wholesome soap. With its long-lasting hardness and stability, tallow soap doesn’t become mushy in the shower and lasts longer than many vegetable-based alternatives, providing excellent value while delivering superior skin benefits.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are generally processed within 1-2 business days. Once shipped — dependent on location — you can expect to receive your order within 4-8 business days (both Canada & US).

While we continue to work with various couriers in hopes of shipping direct, we're partnered with a 3rd party logistics company to ensure more affordable rates with our current volume.

What is wrong with the soap available in department stores?

Profit over everything — the "big corporate" motto.

True soap is a slow, detail-oriented, and costly process. All words that would have you fired in a board members meeting.

Most soaps found in your franchise department store(s) aren't actually called "soap", they're labelled with terms such as:

  • Beauty bars
  • Hydrating bars
  • Moisturizing bars

That's because according the FDA, in order to be classified as "soap", it must go through the saponification process. These "bars" commonly use synthetic base because it's not only cheaper, but the product can be made and used almost immediately.

While EVERY soap in your department store isn't awful, most are. Even the ones pretending to be "organic" or "natural". Use your due-diligence and investigate the back of the label... you'll find a lot of large words you're unfamiliar with, but don't shy away from learning what those are.

Dove's beauty bars, for example, have 17 ingredients. Irish Spring's deodorant bars have 12. Old Spice "Red Zone" bars — which should be red flagged — also has 17 ingredients.

O'Naturelle has 3. 4, if it's a scented bar.

These major soap companies use ingredients that can absolutely remove the bacteria on your skin, but at the same time, will strip your body of it's natural oils, leaving your skin to feel dry, itchy, or "like leather" when you step out of the shower.

Tallow soap vs other "natural" soaps?

If you're using ANY natural soap, as opposed to the most commonly known ones in the cosmetic section of any large department store — I commend you.

Most natural/organic soaps come with a plethora of benefits — keeping in mind the sole duty of "soap" is to keep our skin exactly as it is (if not better) while removing dirt and bad oils — but the purity and compatibility of tallow with human skin is unmatched.

What if I don't like the soap?

You often hear "this product isn't for everyone", but this product truly is. It's a commodity that everyone needs and that everyone benefits from.

That being said, if you aren't satisfied with the product itself or your experience with O'Naturelle, we will 100% refund you.

Every order and customer is personal to us — not in the bullsh*t way corporations call their employees "family" — and at the end of the day, it's about leaving the world in a better place than it was before we got it.

Is international shipping available?

World-wide shipping is available to MOST countries that will allow the import of beef tallow.

Both free shipping (over a certain dollar amount) and express shipping is available for US, Canada, and the UK.

You can view the shipping times and costs here.

Do you have subscriptions?

At one point, we did. But subscriptions have since been removed as bars were lasting much longer than people expected (true story) and voided the use/necessity of having a subscription.
