What does the mesh bag actually do?
Three things. It whips up noticeably more lather with less effort. It adds gentle exfoliation. And it uses up every last sliver of the bar — the end pieces that usually get thrown out just stay in the bag and keep lathering. It extends bar life around 30%.
What's it made of?
It's a synthetic mesh (nylon and polyester). The friction of that weave is exactly what whips up the lather and gives the light exfoliation, and it holds up for years of daily showers. The construction of the draw-string is mediocre, if I'm being honest, so expect that to fall out relatively quickly... please keep using the bag if this happens. Now, if you'd rather keep everything natural fibre, the cotton bag is a great alternative! It just won't sud as hard.
How do I use it?
Put the bar in the bag, wet it, and scrub directly with the bag. You'll get a TON of suds + extend the life of the bar. When you're done, remove the bar and rinse it off. Do the same with the bag. Then hang it by the drawstring to dry.
